Community Health Centre, Kannyakulangara, Thiruvananthapuram District, was started as Primary Health Centre, in 1951 and upgraded to Community Health Centre on 20/05/1997. There are five mini PHC’s under the jurisdiction of CHC Kannyakulangara. PHC Anand, PHC Aruvikkara, PHC Panavoor, PHC Karakulam and PHC Vembayam. Patients from Panavoor, Vembayam, Manikkal and part of Karakulam panchayath and nearby areas are mainly depending on this hospital for all their health needs. More over many patients are referred from Medical College hospital to this hospital for follow up IP care.
CHCKanyakulangara is situated at the south end of Manikkal Grama Panchayath of Vamanapuram Block. It has no separate field area but to supervise all the activities in the areas of the five mini P.H.Cs. Manikkal Panchayath where the CHC is located is coming under the jurisdiction of Block P.H.C. Vamanapuram.
